Springtime at Longwood Gardens

Whether you’re traveling to eastern Pennsylvania and thinking about visiting Longwood Gardens, or you live nearby and have been visiting for years, now is a terrific time to visit. Literally, right now. The 1077-acre garden has thousands of colorful and beautiful tulips that are in bloom (more than 240,000!) with peak expected to last through early May. Check out some of these amazing colors from this past weekend. I only expect that the display will just get more spectacular as the weather warms back up again.

I have to say that this place is really beautiful, even without the wonderful blossom trees and gorgeous tulips. I was thinking how amazing of a place it would be to have a wedding at. Unfortunately, they don’t allow weddings on the property, but they do allow wedding photographs with some restrictions. Seriously, this place has so many incredible backdrops for any type of photoshoot, but it is definitely very romantic. I suggest checking it out if you’re looking for a beautiful place to have a photoshoot in the eastern Pennsylvania area.

Longwood Gardens is only about an hour drive from Philly, and also easily accessible for a fun day trip from other nearby states and cities–Washington D.C., Baltimore, etc. If you’re stumbling across this post and the tulips are already gone, don’t fret–it seems that there is always something going on at Longwood Gardens. In June, for instance, they have their Wine and Jazz Festival. Wine and jazz in this type of setting? Doesn’t get much better than that.

Of course, you won’t want to miss their spring blooms next year!
